Fronted by Ewan MacFarlane, The Grim Northern Social released their self-titled debut in 2003. It was named one of the albums of the year in Rolling Stone magazine. The band have appeared as special guests of Elvis Costello and Simple Minds and released their second LP Watch Out For The Spies shortly before they split up in the autumn of 2007.
