Description
Manbreak – Asphalt Culture
14 track CD album. The second album from Manbreak.
Formed in the north of England in 1994, Manbreak described themselves as “post-grunge cinematic hip hop” and consisted of the colourfully named Mr Blonde, Roy Frost, John Snakey, Stu Boy and Swindelli. Their songs were imbued with sociopolitics and their debut album Come And See (recorded by Siouxsie and the Banshees/New Order producer Stephen Hague) took its name from a 1985 film by Soviet director Elem Klimov. They released two singles on OLI in 1997 – ‘News Of The World’ and ‘Wasted’. Their second album, Asphalt Culture, was released on One Little Indian in 2001.
