Birmingham based band L. Kage (pronounced El Cage) consisted of Dean O’Loughlin (vocals, guitars), Andrew Powell (guitars, vocals), Hendricks (drums, vocals) and John Morrison (bass). O’Loughlin was often compared to The Cure’s Robert Smith and Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze in relation to his vocal melodies. L. Kage released only one album on One Little Indian, 1993’s Brazilliant, from which they released one single, ‘My Head’s On Fire’. Prior to the album’s release, they put out one other single on OLI – 1991’s ‘Passion 91’ – and one on Gi Records in 1989, entitled ‘The Magnificent L. Kage’.
