Johnathan Rice – Trouble Is Real

16 track debut CD album from the much heralded New York singer-songwriter Johnathan Rice.

After recording his first release, the 6 song Heart and Mind EP, in his native Virginia, Johnathan Rice moved to New York armed with 1000 copies of the record. He arrived 2 days before the attacks on the World Trade Centre, imagery of which infiltrated his 2005 debut LP Trouble Is Real, produced by Bright Eyes collaborator Mike Mogis. Rice played regularly at folk clubs around Manhattan and Brooklyn, building up a live following and released his second solo album Further North in 2007. He is now in Jenny and Johnny, with his wife and Rilo Kiley frontwoman Jenny Lewis.
