Formed in 1998, Black Box Recorder were an English indie rock group made up of Sarah Nixey, Luke Haines (formerly of The Auteurs), and John Moore (formerly of The Jesus And Mary Chain).
They released their debut album “England Is Mine” in 1998, and their follow up “The Facts Of Life” in 2000. The latter included their first hit single, of the same name. They released their third album, “Passionoia” in 2003, before going on hiatus, with a few comeback shows throughout the late 2000s, and officially announcing their split with a final single “Keep It In The Family” b/w “Do You Believe In God?” in May 2010.
In 2018, a compilation CD boxset “The Facts Of Life” was released through One Little Independent Records, with the vinyl boxset arriving a year later.
